This place is really out in the sticks , along a narrow winding road that runs alongside the river Wye .
There are two entrances , the one on the left is the main bar area , the one on the right the dining area which is divided by a wooden open staircase .
Its pretty tradional in here with lots of wood and stone and a couple of old fireplaces , there is a nice outdoor drinking patio , unusually the cellar entrance is guarded by an ancient Gravestone .
It was pretty busy on my Thursday lunchtime visit mostly with diners , service was good and my Hobsons Bitter was in good nick .
A decent country pub

Converted cottage with 3 rooms. Hobson’s Best Bitter and Butty Bach were on handpull. Food orientated pub but with a small area for drinkers. Not a bad place and I appreciate that we were out in the sticks so it means a drive between nearby pubs (although I did worry whether the wooden bridge to the car park would hold out as we drove across it)
