A cosy village pub doing a roaring trade via a Sunday carvery with families of all ages tucking in. A cosy interior helps, half bare-boarded, half parquet floor, exposed beams, a small, open fireplace ablaze and friendly staff and one locAle on (Loose Cannon Flying Pig) were all plus points. So, the negatives? Well, not many. A half of the Flying Pig was steep, at £2.35 for a half, and the fact I was the only person in for a drink makes you wonder whether a steeper pricing policy is there to dissuade the Komakinos of this world. Also a second pump offered 'Merry Miller Ale', which I noticed from the clip was brewed in Bury St Edmunds. So despite no paraphernalia, there seems to be a GK link by stealth. A nice enough place, however, and certainly preferrable over the nearby Black Horse.

Large and gloomy food outlet. Worthington ales, 3 pulls with St. Edmunds at £4.50. Pleasant staff
