Blue Scrumpy left this review about Tyn-y-Groes Inn
The Tyn-Y-Groes Inn enjoys a wonderful location in a conifer-filled valley north of Dolgellau in Snowdonia. The pub shares its building with a coffee shop (left-hand side). The landlady was happy to open up the bar for me, on my arrival.
Having been long-term closed, it re-opened, only to close again. It is back open now and their website advertises 21 beers. The reality is that most of the beers were off and the solitary handpull, which is sat in a rather awkward position on the corner of the bar counter, is unused. Craft beers available were Crafty Devil As Safe As Milk, Magic Dragon Dr G & Tiny Rebel Just Haze & Clwb Tropica. Other keg choices were much more mainstream.
The Australian landlady was quite chatty and proud to be living in such a picturesque location. If it wasn't for the busy A-road running past, it would be even better.
A pub with a great location, but lacking in beer choice, contrary to its claims.
