We really liked this pub, we got a warm welcome from the young Licensee, who was a natural with customers and explained that she had run a few of the pubs in nearby Spondon. The pub was spotlessly clean and freshly painted. The interior is traditional in style with an added side extension with patio doors and a large screen TV above and a dartboard over to the right.
The small lounge area had a wood burning stove and a comfortable seating area, with low ceilings. Four handpumps serving Pedigree, TT Landlord, St Austell Proper Job and Oakham Citra. I tried three of their beers and all were in excellent shape. The bar stools were upcycled milk churns which were a great idea.

My third pub in Ockbrook and just time for a swift half before my bus. It's a lot smaller than the other two, but the licensee makes up for this with his cheerful attitude and willingness to talk to his customers. The beer I had from among the four on the bar was in good condition. The original pub is painted white, but there's a brick extension to the left, in which a Christmas tree and its decorations were just being taken down (this was mid-January). Another customer and I joked that it looked more like he was just putting it up in time for next Christmas. It's that sort of pub.

The Cross Keys has been up for let for about a year but no one seems to want this pub it looks quite nice from the outside and is fairly unaltered inside it has Pedigree on the bar and if your not happy here its a short walk to the Royal Oak.

Visited this pub on the 16th Oct 09, the landlord appeared very polite but the pub appeared to be struggling which is a shame although it was at about 2:30 in the afternoon.
