An interesting brick and pantile building, reputedly the stables for Wolterton Hall, built in the style of a Tuscan fattoria in an isolated area of rural north Norfolk. Fitting the description of an inn, the Saracen's Head majors on high quality food sourced from local farms and fisheries.
On our visits in early October, the rooms on either side of the entrance lobby were busy with diners taking part in a restaurant promotion organised by the local paper.Behind these, in a little room to the rear is the bar with two or three tables. A pair of handpumps were in use:Woodforde's dependable Wherry and Honey Panther from Panther in Reepham. Honey beers are rarely to my taste, and this, while in good condition, was no exception.
Pleasingly, the landlord was very hands on,manning the bar and waiting at table. My parents-in-law,who were staying here, reported favourably on the bed and breakfast accommodation.
There's a courtyard to the rear, and dogs seem welcome.
