I was one of two customers in the Freemasons during a recent Monday evening visit, although a small group of locals did leave as I approached. The bar counter found in the centre of the rear wall faces high tables and then banquettes that run under the front windows. A pool table is found to the right and more seating along with a dartboard is found to the left. Sky and TNT Sports are advertised, but muted Coronation Street was on the TV while some low background music played.
One of the three hand pumps was in use drawing Wainwright and standard keg was available alongside Cruzcampo and Amstel. There’s also a very large gin selection. The service was polite, and although quiet I got the feeling that this is a decent boozer when the locals are all in. I’d give it another go if passing at a busier time.
