Blue Scrumpy left this review about Anchor Hotel

This is a lovely little pub overlooking Urr Water where sailing appears to be popular. You enter into a traditional bar, featuring plenty of wood where a little meandering will take you to the bar itself.

WhatPub suggested that 3 real ales might be available, but the website hasn't been updated for a few years. In actual fact, there is only one handpull and on this occasion, that was unclipped. So once again, it was a choice of keg or keg only - Strongbow, Kronenbourg, Beavertown Neck Oil, Amstel, Guinness, Moretti, John Smith's & Inch's. The barmaid did however inform me that they do normally have an ale on. So, perhaps all is not lost.

It seems like they also serve food in here. But for me, the attraction of this pub is its traditional feel and its picturesque setting. There is a small car park up the track behind the pub.
