Soup Dragon left this review about The Lochranza Hotel
A white rendered low-level side annex of the detached Lochranza Hotel, called the Boguillie Bar, which has the front garden of the hotel as a place to enjoy a drink.
The interior of the bar room is a single L-shaped room that curves around the small wood serving bar with a central supporting column. The décor is cream and cream patterned wallpaper with white ceiling and blue carpet. On the walls there are maps, animal pictures, old photos, drawings and a clock for interest. They do food, though I didn’t eat and there are tables to facilitate it. It is small and tidy, indeed, it can close if there is nobody in – luckily I found it open, as there wasn’t anyone else inside when I visited. The service was really friendly. There was no music and the TV wasn’t on.
Beer; tap stuff with decent enough Deuchars IPA and McEwan’s 70/- on handpull.
A nice little place and the only place for several miles either way to get a proper real ale. Worth popping into after a look at the castle.
