The Grove is a small single roomed wood panelled bar that was busy with locals on a recent Tuesday afternoon visit. I think the presence of an Englishman in a suit and three quarter length jacket caught a few of the locals off guard so they weren’t overly welcoming, but I was left to drink my pint of Tennents in peace. The serving counter stocked with standard keg alongside Cruzcampo runs up the left-hand wall to some small tables and a U-shaped banquette in the left rear corner. The open plan seating faced by the counter is overlooked by a couple of televisions that were airing muted horse racing while some background music played. In the front left window is a some raised seating and I noted an interesting stained glass cottage scene in the front door. I think I’ll leave this place to the locals in future.
