Visited back in January. One cask ale on, which bizarrely was unclipped despite being available. This was called Blimey, the barman had no idea who the brewery was but a bit of research suggests it may well have been Northern Whisper. I was offered a taster but found it had a bit of a tart edge that put me off wanting a full one, so I settled for the ShinDigger Black Nitro Stout on keg instead. This set me back £4 for a half - I have mixed feelings on this as the beer menu shows it at £4.10 a half so in a way I got a bargain as it was less than the listed price. Yet, a pint is listed as £6.70, so this seems to be one of those places that has more of a mark up on smaller measures.

It is a cosy cafe bar type place but no issue going in for just a drink. It's very Chorlton. It's fairly casual to the front but the rear section has tables laid out for dining. The toilets are upstairs and the gents are quite basic - certainly not as fancy as the downstairs area.

There is a "Copper Room" upstairs, which looks like it may be available to hire.

I can't see myself rushing back but it's not awful.

Steps flanked by wooden seating ascend to the entrance of Lead Station where there is a bar counter to the left that faces seating in the front window. The rest of the ground floor feels more like a restaurant, including waitresses walking around. The toilets are upstairs, as is the Copper Room which I imagine is available for hire.
The bar supports a single handpump which was drawing Northern Whisper’s Beltie. It was good, but being charged £3 for half a 4.8% stout is a piss take. There are five keg options, three from Shin Digger alongside San Miguel and Orchard Thieves Cider. The barman was friendly, but I’ll not be paying these rip of prices in here again.

A good looking building from the outside, but once inside it's very modern, with a silver coloured bar and "mood" lighting. There's no real ale here and as I was towards the end of a long crawl I decided to give it a miss.
