Smart and welcoming pub with booth seating along one wall and a variety of tables and chairs. Some interesting and dramatic pictures, plus a collection of mirrors helping the place seem lighter even in January. Bar counter painted blue and has three hand pumps, all with beers from Scottish breweries: Fyne, Stewart and Bellfield. Loud music of the rap or hip-hop genre. My half of Pentland IPA was a little green but good enough (NBSS 3), if a little pricey at £5.40/pint.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Ship Inn
An austere facade with some patio seating out front, overlooking the interestingly-named Quality Strret. The main entrance leads into a side lounge / dining area, with rather more more space in bar (which also has a another door). Side booths, piano and sports TV screens. Traditional furniture with nautical decor (paintings, photos, charts, etc.) despite being some distance from the sea front. Decent-looking menu. Three handpumps dispensing Abbot, Bombardier and Scottish Borders Game Bird (£3.20). Overall, seemed one of the best bets for a pint in North Berwick.
