Old skool backstreet boozer, an inverse U shaped layout with a sensitive modernised front and an old skool rear with attractive chequerboard tiled flooring and all very well looked-after. Four regional-brewery cask with paper clips at the bar; the regular Bass was on via stillage and mine was fair (NBSS 3). Quiet pub which is always nice when done well. I liked it; though I was steaming by this stage of proceedings, having guzzled a fair amount in the Shardlow sunshine earlier; though often-times that makes my assessment more judgey, less nuanced and probably more honest – I much preferred it here than to the Red Lion. 7.5

Another very nice traditional pub down a very narrow lane from the main A road through Kegworth, this is a red brick building that has been pebble dashed on the upper level but retains stained glass windows in the bar areas. inside it has three distinct areas opened out slightly to access the bar. nice tiled flor and woodwork around the bar. Two ales were on the hand pumps with Bass served from the jug which is filled direct from the barrel. The Bass was superb along with the Castle Rock Pale Ale. Well worth seeking out this friendly locals pub.
