David Ross left this review about Kelvin Hotel
This is a rather sedate bar/lounge which is part of a hotel of the same name. It was much quieter than the town centre pubs, although it's less than a ten minute walk away. It has wood panelled walls hung with old town photos, with padded seating around one half and bar stools around the other. There is a pool table and a selection of board games on the window sill. There was a TV set which wasn't switched on and music playing quietly. Tennent's lager was £3.10 a pint and Staropramen, Brewdog IPA, Guinness and Magner's cider were also on draught. It's obviously dog-friendly as there were four canines in the bar at one point, which was particularly surprising as there were only seven human customers, myself included. The Kelvin is nice enough for a quiet pint, but probably mainly attracts locals and hotel residents.
