A recent revisit found West Berks GOB, Doom Bar and a GK Festival Ale of some sort. My GOB was in good shape. The two girls behind the bar were a bit clueless about the ale, a chap brought the GK one back as he thought it was off (judging by his description, I think he was right). Anyway cue a gormless stare-a-thon but in the end it was changed with good grace. It’s a decent place but seems like the licensee needs to be in situ for it to have the best bar service.

A tidy Greene King pub offering a selection of the brewery's wares in decent nick. The service was friendly (got chatting to the landlady). Drinking area to the left, dining to the right. Quarry floor tiling. We enjoyed the substantial rear garden (including adjacent livestock!). Didn't spot Kate or Pippa but I'd be happy to pop back again for another look. Better than I expected. Rated 7.
