New licensees now in situ (hoorah) and thankfully not much change inside which is welcome (including the carpet!) though there has been a nifty rear extension added. Four pumps with three ales and a cider; Ramsbury Gold, Nethergate IPA and Flack Manor Romsey Gold alongside Tutts Clump medium dry cider, served-up by friendly staff. My Gold was fine but less sure of the Nethergate - though to be fair I rarely am. Still a good little pub.

A nice traditional country boozer with a thatched roof. L-shaped interior with a real fire, along with papers, dart board and (out-of-place) pool table. Decent beer garden to the rear. Three ales on; Doom Bar, Adnams Bitter and Ramsbury Gold (very drinkable) as well as Old Rosie cider. Also an excellent selection of bar snacks. An otherwise pleasant 15 minutes overshadowed by the landlord - grumpy and rude (slagged off some customers behind their back after they left), he looked like Tom Baker's bitter brother. Hopefully someone a bit nicer can be bussed in as this is a good little local otherwise. Rated 7
