A modern, detached, mainly undressed brick, 60s looking estate Sizzling chain pub, situated in the unromantic location of a car park by some shops. It has a patio area.
The interior is again typical of this kind of gastropub; open plan, mainly food based of course, with the walls in different but plain colours - red, yellow and green mainly. There is a more drink based area, with sofas and comfy chairs and high stools, with a dart board and TV, which was showing Sky Sports. In this area there were cartoons on the walls for a bit of interest. The service was very friendly and it was busy enough for a Monday afternoon, with a mixed clientele. There was no background music. I didn't eat, so cant comment on the food, but have always found Sizzling more than adequate for what you pay for.
Beer; usual tap stuff, with a decent Banks's MILD and Spekky Hen and Bass on handpull, which i didn't try.
This place i felt was a good example of what a Sizzling pub should be - i have been in others that are not! I would be more than happy to pop in here again - next time to eat. It just suffers a little from its location i think.
