Monty’s is a sports bar with multiple televisions throughout for showing live sport. During a recent early Monday evening visit muted cricket was airing whilst some background music played. The bar on the right wall supports a standard and premium keg range. It faces some high tables that back onto large booth seating that run down the centre of the pub. A couple more booths and table football back onto a raised area along the left rear that houses two pool tables. On the rear wall is a DJ booth and to the left of the entrance is a cloakroom for weekend nights, I suspect there’s an entrance fee. There is a small raised seating area under the front windows with a rope across the entrance, like some sort of crap VIP area. I’m only guessing though because I was the only customer. Food is available, the double cheeseburger is priced at £9.50. The service was polite, but I preferred Anderton’s.
