This place has got potential for a revisit. A proper drinkers pub, that seems to be hiding from the main road - tiny, tucked in and at an odd angel.
Low ceilings and a decent selection of cask, including Old Peculiar. Intrigued by the recently imported Cornish Farm Cider (no name provided), I thought I would try something different.
I can't say too much about what goes on during a Wednesday afternoon, but I don't think full on wailing has ever appeared in one of my pub reviews.
Not far from the Nags Head - and if you add in the excellent but unheralded Malvern Tavern - a decent little pub crawl in a different part of town.

Bijou pub at an odd angle to the road which makes it easy to miss. Teeny L shape inside, would feel full with 15 people in so not much scope for profit at the bar I imagine. Attractive padded pew seating and a general air of cosiness. Two ales on - TT Golden Best and Wye Valley HPA – the latter of which was fine (NBSS 3), also a cider. Cheese and onion rolls available and a bit of live music on the go. Nice little place, worth having a look.
