E TA left this review about Olivers Bar
A high street theme bar, Olivers is set in a terrace and forms part of a parade of shops on the busy Stoke Road. The theme seems to allude to popular music, although the offensively profane (c)rap music being pumped out at excessive volume from the jukebox makes me wonder whether "popular" is the right word. The single knocked-through bar has wooden floors, and the walls are adorned with various musical clutter - guitars, keyboards and so on. There are gaming machines and a pool table, but there is little in the way of atmosphere. The staff were really quite pleasant, in contrast to the clientele who seemed mainly (to continue the American theme) trailer trash. On the plus side, there was a sign making it clear that hoodies and baseball caps were not to be worn at the bar. There was no real ale on, so I don't think I'll be dropping in too often as there are other pubs nearby.
