E TA left this review about The Glencoe
A fine Edwardian building with mock Tudor deatil, in a quiet residential area away from the Town centre. The ground floor has been knocked through to provide a single large bar which is carpeted, and is light and airy. There is an anachronistic late Victorian fireplace, repro but still adds character, but of more note is the rather grand bar with its ornate wooden mouldings and stained glass overhead. The locals were welcoming, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The was no real ale on draft, but they had a selection of RAIB; I had a bottle of Oakleaf Hole Hearted which went down very nicely. It's worth dropping in when passing, possibly tying in to a crawl towards the Elson area.
