Will Larter left this review about Eagles Nest
The pub is called the Eagles Nest, but it must once have been the public bar of the Eagle Hotel, which has been split into various businesses, including a fish & chip shop. A sign still advertises a bistro, but there was no sign of anything of that nature when I was here. There are two rooms, with a pool table in the front and a bar to the rear. The bare bricks and wooden floor are attractive, but the hard surfaces make it noisy when there are a few in, as there were this Sunday evening. There's a large inglenook fireplace with a wood burning stove, and altogether this is a very pleasant little pub. Or would be if there were any real ale available. The young lass serving was very welcoming, but there was nothing I fancied among the keg offerings, so I just had a glass of whisky.
