Update: Other than a bit of a repaint (some in different colours) the pub remains as it was. The food here was very nice and the three handpulls had become Banks's Bitter, MILD (very nice) and Enville Ale (also very nice). Service was very good.

June 2013: This is a detached Marston's country pub and restaurant, with beer garden areas. The pub is a lovely Georgian building (with a pediment at the front) and a low-level extension. Both are in white render and black paintwork around the windows and on the porch of the door, both appearing to have been Victorianised. There are nice sash and dormer windows. The interior has a couple of rooms. The main room is traditional, in cream and heavey wood panel. There is a large brick fire and a cream and beam ceiling. It is all laid out for dining. There are brasses and Victorian prints and photos. There is a large side room, also laid out for dining. This room is in green and white and in Rococo style. There are a couple of fireplaces and mixed art. There is a small side area here with sofas. The service was very fiendly and there were a few local people in - i know they have Jazz nights too. There was no TV and the music was mixed at a decent level. Beer; usual tap stuff with Banks's MILD. Handplls; Cocker-hoop and Oxford Gold (decent) were on. A nice country pub, despite the more dining feel. Very much worth a pop-in.
