Old Boots left this review about The Calverley Arms
A big M&B Gamekeepers Collection pub with rooms located in what would have been a fairly posh private house, old Ordnance Survey maps label it ‘Elmwood’. Greyed up and modernised inside, little remains of any Victorian splendour. Very hotel-like in feel, although some customers could described as two star on a good day. The angled counter is dead ahead on entering but it’s poor fayre with a load of dreary keg solos plus three predictable pulls with Doombar, Landlord and the more unusual Black Sheep Respire rather than the ubiquitous Best Bitter. The toilets are at the extreme left at the end of a large dining area in the side extension. I once asked my old mate Ernie “what happens in Caverley?” His reply “nothing happens in Caverley”, sadly Ernie was right.
