Large village pub/hotel not too far from the English border. Walking from the car park through a small garden/patio area, you enter the building and pass a large dining room to the right-hand side before finding the bar at the opposite end.
We immediately felt a little underdressed, as there were about a dozen people dressed to the nines about to head to a wedding. Whilst the pub sits nextdoor to the pub where Owain Glyndwr was married, this wedding party were jumping into cars and heading off elsewhere.
The pub re-opened last summer and whilst cask ale is still present, this was limited to just Oracle. With nobody dining (I'm not even sure if they were serving food), when we left with the stragglers from the wedding party, we left the friendly barmaid on her own in an empty pub!

Bar attatatched to an hotel , the bar is in the older part of the building and has had a modern/traditional makeover in contrast to the modern low rise hotel , open plan with lots of dark wood its quite cosy in here , normal keg taps and several handpulls , a couple with real ciders and the rest with mainly local beers , my Stonehouse Station Bitter was in good Nick .
