The Queens is another Marston's pub on the Queens Road. It is located on a busy roundabout with the number 5 bus passing by. Unlike the St John's Hotel up the road, the Queens has one large sub-divided room. There are a few TVs dotted around and there were also a handful of customers ranging from a woman sat on her own, a couple of daughters who had seemingly brought their elderly father out of his retirement home for the day, a lone guy on a laptop and a group of blokes playing dominoes.
Hobgoblin is the regular cask ale. The guest was Sunbeam, whilst I was happy to find Weston's Rosie's Pig Rhubarb cider in a box.
The pub has a fairly worn feel to it. Be careful of the taps in the gents toilets. They are somewhat ferocious and may leave you with a wet patch or two!
Another local pub that was better than I had expected.

An unusual, good looking, 3 storey pub. Several different areas and pretty busy on our Thursday afternoon visit. We popped in intending to have a quick one before catching a bus back into the city. The problem was that there was only 1 woman serving and at least 5 people waiting in front of us, so we decided to give it a miss. 2 real ales available Marston's EPA and Jennings Cockerhoop.
