A long time has elapsed since I was last in here - approximately the autumn of 1987 so can't recall it at all well.
It claims to date back to the 13th century and is family-run. It's situated on some fast roads leading to Shobdon, Aymestrey and beyond to Wigmore as well as Kingsland, Lucton and Yarpole; local attractions include Croft Castle, Berrington Hall and Wigmore Castle.
What I can remember was a decent pub which had a fair bit of aeronautical décor, such as a wall-mounted aeroplane's propeller, possibly influenced by the pub's relatively close proximity to Shobdon airfield.
Will return one day.
