A large square room in a modern row of shops opposite Bier Huis but totally different. It has the ambience of a poor ‘Spoons, four unused pulls, although one was clip reversed, and three horseshoes of fairly standard keg, to be fair one offered slightly more macro craft. Various dividers and floor levels give a few different areas each with different seating options; high tables, booths and armchairs all being available. There are five screens dotted about, a few machines and of course piped music, for the more active the front left corner has a pool table while a dart board lucks to the centre left. There’s an incongruous fireplace in each front corner. Toilets upstairs a la ‘Spoons which could be its aspiration.

The Maypole is an ex Smith & Jones pub that is situated in shopping precinct in the middle of Ossett.
Once inside there is a single large square shaped room,the bar is on the left side,there is a pool table to the front left,there are normal tables and chairs to the front right and some american diner type seating,the rear right area is slightly raised and has mainly normal tables and chairs plus a couple of settees.
There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Ossett Inception which went down very well,the other beers were Thwaites Wainwright and Bombardier.
The pub was quite busy on my Saturday dinner visit with a good mix of customers,i was happy enough having a drink in this pub.

Modern and soul less not my cup of tea , though it will apeal to its target audience the younger drinker and for them I would say give it a try.
