Will Larter left this review about The Horse & Groom Inn
Set back from the crossroads behind its own car park, the Horse & Groom is a traditional village pub that has been slightly opened out but with two rooms, each with it's own door from the lobby, served from a central bar facing both ways. There's also a conservatory-type extension at the back, with a garden behind. There were five hand pumps all badged, which was a surprise to me, but suggests that it is not as quiet in the evenings as it was when I called in at 1pm on a Thursday. My pint of Black Sheep Bitter was pretty good (NBSS 3) - see photo for others. The walls are decorated with mostly hunting pictures, though there are one or two of horse racing. There is a bus from Chesterfield via Bolsover which runs hourly (last bus back 7:30pm).
