Strongers . left this review about The Cromwell

This is the bar for Greene King’s Cromwell Lodge Hotel, but to be honest it does feel more like a pub than hotel bar. The serving counter stocked with premium keg runs up the left-hand wall and up the right are high tables alongside leather banquettes that are raised by a wine crate base. A central column supports a beer shelf where stools also wrap around and more seating is found in the right rear, I assumed this was a dining area from the sound of clinking cutlery. There was some background music playing and muted BBC News was airing on a television. If I was staying I the hotel I’d be happy to have a beer in here, but then I’d have to find somewhere a bit more interesting to continue my evening.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Cromwell

Bar for the Cromwell House Hotel, part of Greene King's Old English Inns chain. Not as traditional inside as it looks from the street, with a semi-modern refurbishment in the various seating / dining areas. Unchallenging background music. Two handpumps on the counter, but unfortunately the Titanic Stout guest beer went part-way through the pour so had to resort to the IPA (£3.15).

Peter Rydings left this review about The Cromwell

Stayed here for 4 night it was one of those deals in the paper Old English Inns there worth taking advantage of less than £40 a night for 2 with breakfast. The bar was open to non residents and always had a good few in there was 3 hand pulls on but it was very hot so stuck to lager. The food looked good and at a good price nice beer garden at the back of the pub,

Would go back and stay

Richard Sharman left this review about Cromwell Lodge Hotel

This is the bar for the Cromwell lodge Hotel but it's also a pub for non residents. The bar is to the left as you enter and there are a couple more rooms for dining off to the right. All done in a sort of smart modern/traditional style the bar is the more basic of the rooms whilst the dining areas are a mix of comfy seating of all types. The food is good and reasonably priced. Real ale on good form in the bar.
