What can I say about Platform 8? Nothing. Had half of house bitter, perhaps a half too many.

Old Boots left this review about Platform 8
A Greene King pub just outside the station, horribly modernised inside it sells some truly dreadful beer. The cask choice on my visit was a house badged 3.9% bitter - awful, not badly kept but exhibiting all the brewing faults GK are famous for, two other pulls were not in use. A keg choice across the fourteen solos was very predictable, with the nasty Innes and Gunn being among them. A roughly square room, counter on the right, functional seating abounds. There are screens and machines aplenty to entertain the masses. Added to which my beer was served in a bloody handled jug so I wasn’t impressed. Toilets are upstairs a la ‘spoons, obviously a place trading on its proximity to the rail station.

David Ross left this review about The Exchange
One of the many modern bar/diners which have sprouted in the city centre in the past decade or so, The Exchange does at least have a bit more of a pub ambience to it than most of its rivals. It was roomy and comfortable, with music playing at a moderate level and muted TVs. A pint of Guinness cost me £3.55 and Belhaven Best, Strongbow cider and Hop House 13, Innes and Gunn and Peroni lagers were also on draught.
