A detached Marston's pub with a patio area on a busy traffic island. The heart of the pub is at least mid-Victorian, but has since been extended on either side and to the front. It is in white render, with a front facing gable. The interior is one long room, part bisected. It is in white artex with green wood panel, complimented by green seating, as well as a white and beam ceiling. A few prints, bottles and jugs offer some interest. There were a couple of TVs, one with sport on and another with a documentary. The background music was general and at a soft level. The service was friendly, and it was nice to see some banter between the gaffer and some locals that had dined - i didn't eat here so can't comment on that. A large group of martue motor-cyclists had also stopped-off here, adding to what was a nice atmosphere. Beer; usual tap stuff with Banks's Bitter and a decent Banks's MILD on handpull. A nice enough place, with a little more than the standard choice of drinks. Nice enough to stop at for one.
