This is a lovely old fashioned hotel, all corridors and doors to unknown rooms. I hadn't planned on stopping, but I'd got pretty wet cycling from Llanfyllin and deserved a respite. I caught a brief glimpse of a Black Sheep plaque on the front of the pub as I went by, so applied the brakes which fortunately were in good working order. The main bar has old fashioned (1970s?) wallpaper and (1930s?) furniture but the bar has three hand pumps including Black Sheep Bitter, which is much more recent. (The others are depicted in my photo, but these come and go; Black Sheep is always on). I'd clearly come to the right place. I always limit myself to a half per pub when I'm cycling, though I was tempted to have more because it was in very good condition. I left somewhat reluctantly, but at least the rain was easing off.
