Strongers . left this review about Old Hand & Diamond
Just over the Welsh border, the Old Hand & Diamond Inn is a roadside pub with a large car park and patio seating under two jumbrellas. The bar with exposed wooden beams and supports is found to the right of the entrance where seating is found up the side walls and either side of a stone fireplace that is faced by the serving counter. Standard and premium keg options were available alongside Alpacalypse and four hand pumps, three of which were in use drawing Rev James, Wye Valley’s HPA and Beartown’s Kodiak. There is a bit of a hunting theme, but thankfully the only animal head on the wall was a stuffed reindeer toy. The bar extends behind into the Meleverley Room where lounge seating is faced by an inglenook and burner on the far wall. The two other customer during a recent midweek lunchtime visit were waiting in the bar for the carvery and restaurant in the rear to open. This place is a bit out of the way so I wouldn’t visit just for a beer, but if I didn’t have a long journey home I would have been enticed to stay by the smell of the roast.
