No cask. Keg offering of Guinness, Asahi, Spitfire and the Spitfire lager.

The bar in the Sefton known as Sir Norman's or now Encore at Sir Norman's is a glitzy affair these days. Accessed via its own entrance with a bronze of Sir Norman out the front by some picnic bench seating or via the walk through from the reception area. There is a raised area to the left of the front entrance in the large bay window, dark ceramic tiles and a banquette around the space serving regular tables with attractive chairs the other side thereof. The bar counter is a leather padded affair with the initial part with red box backing housing a variety of exotic looking spirits and the bar counter with the taps just on from that initial bar area more towards the middle of the venue. There are more banquettes down the right-hand wall with black metal lattice work dividers and a large screen above the initial banquette. Regular tables and fancy chairs in each compartment and some tall tables with tall stools that take some getting into along the dark carpeted section of the floor space from the front to the rear. There is a large chessboard tiled area along the length of the bar counter and a rear seating area up a couple of steps with the same combo of banquettes, fancy padded chairs and faux marble topped tables. What isn't black here is red and there are plenty of party style art and red neon on black panel backgrounds on the walls. The signed photos of Sir Norman now relegated to the walk from the rear of the bar area to the toilets where the walls are less styled. Fancy starburst style lighting and a strong R&B soundtrack being played.

This is Sir Norman's, the bar of the Sefton Hotel. There is a statue of Norman Wisdom sitting on a bench in the foyer area, and lots of photos and film posters of him on the walls. Half pint of Bushys Manx Bitter 3.8% is £1.80. If I had got a pint it would have been £3.50. Very quiet, virtually empty and there were 3 TV screenson the walls.

Good local beers. Okells and Bushy's in excellent condition and served at room temperature.
