After a hard morning's snapping around Barrow and Dalton, on an unusually warm March day,the wife agreed i was in need of a well deserved pint before we hit the M6 south.We opted for the Gilpin Bridge Inn at Levens,where normally the pub car park is quite full,but on this occasion was positively quiet.On entry we were met by the landlady,who was very apologetic and stated the electric had been switched off and was due to come back on at 3-30 pm.This was the first setback in a long line of closed Friday afternoon pubs as we proceeded on a fruitless wild goose chase around the Cumbria countryside in search of sustenance and liquid refreshment
