Two large screen TVs have been installed since the last time I was in here. One is in the main bar and the other in the smaller separate section to the back, which is really just another part of the bar rather than a lounge. Both were showing a rugby match, which is obviously popular here, as rugby commentator Bill McLaren’s original hand written match notes on a 2002 Wales v Scotland match hang in a frame on the wall. An unusual distraction for a pub is a fish tank in the corner, so it’s clearly not an establishment that anticipates bar-room brawls. Other decorations include old town photographs and one of the “Biggar Bonfire,” which takes place just across the road from here every New Year’s Eve. My perfect pint of McEwan’s 80 Shilling cost me £3.30 and McEwan’s 70 Shilling, Guinness, John Smith’s, Strongbow cider and McEwan’s, Kronenberg and Foster’s lagers are also available on draught.

Probably the least "touristy" of the four pubs in the town and the one most frequented by locals. Doesn't serve food, but good beer and friendly staff.
