The Queens Head is a pub and hotel that has an interesting front door that has stained glass up either side and across the top. Inside is carpeted throughout and there’s an L-shaped serving counter up the right that faces a row of high tables that run up the Centre. In the front right is a pool room with high backed blue banquettes around the walls. There were ten or so very loud twenty-somethings enjoying themselves in here during a recent Wednesday evening visit. In the right rear is a split-level seating area with mirrors all around the walls that looked like they’re from a casino or men’s club. Televisions are found throughout for airing Sky Sports, these were all muted in favour of some low background music that couldn’t be heard due to the din coming from the pool table. Standard and premium keg were available and three of the five hand pumps were in use drawing Jaipur, GK Old Speckled Hen and an offering from Buxton Brewery. The service was polite, but I thought the door was more interesting than the actual pub.

Decent pub which was a good place to watch the football. 5 ales on with Jaipur, Speckled Hen and Doom Bar alongside 2 from Buxton brewery - Blonde and Mantel. The beer was well kept and the service friendly. All in all a pretty good pub.

Lots of different areas in this large pub. There's pool, darts, table football, pinball, Sky Sports and on some nights live music. Quite busy on my Sunday night visit. It had been a bit of a long day and I failed to take notice of exactly what was on the bar, but I did note that there were 5 handpumps in use and that my pint was in good nick. Next time we're in Buxton I'll call in earlier.

Not too bad a pub. Multi-areas to sit in with a pool table to your right as you enter. Another area has a stage which is obviously used for pub singer/karaoke. 7 handpumps in two banks of 5 & 2 but only 4 beers on today. The vinegar I had today was fair enough.

Comfortable pub which is very quiet during the day but busier in the evening, according to the manager. Two beers on handpump: Greene King IPA and Hancocks HB, which was OK despite being a long way from home.
