The Kings Head is a large L-shaped pub that was very busy during a recent Wednesday evening, in fact every table was taken so I had to stand with my drink at the central L-shaped serving counter. To the right of the entrance is seating that was full of dining families and up the left-hand wall is more seating that was full of diners and drinkers. At the rear is a sunken area with a pool table and dartboard. Televisions are located throughout for showing live sport. I gleaned during my visit that the pub was so busy because all the Premier League matches were available on TNT Sport and the Man U match would be shown in one side of the pub and the Man C match the other. The service was friendly, but alongside the standard and premium keg only two of the six hand pumps were in use drawing Banks Bitter and Pedigree. This place is popular, but it does feel like a high street chain pub so I wouldn’t go out of my way to revisit.

Rob Camra's review below pretty much sums the place up, as the buildings exterior is very impressive looking, with a run of the mill interior. Also there was an image of Sid James painted on a leading wall as you enter quoting 'A Right Royal Welcome' a tad naff in my opinion. Some of the ornate cornice work can be seen, but apart from that, it's nothing to write home about. Three ales Wainwright, Pedigree and Banks Amber.

Pretty standard pub showing the football. 2 beers from the Marston's range. My Pedigree was decent. Not a bad place but there are better options nearby.

Quite an impressive pub from the outside, but once inside it's just a run of the mill kind of place. A pool table, dartboard and big screen in one room, although it's all broken through into one big area really. Menus on several of the tables, but no-one was actually eating even though it was prime time on a Sunday evening. Two cask beers available from the 4 handpumps both from the Marston's extended stable. Notes fail me on what I actually had to drink as I find Marston's beers rather tedious. It was in good nick though.

A pleasant enough pub though a bit soulless. 2 roomed with the room to your right on entering being the quieter one. The main larger room contains a pool table and both rooms are pleasantly furnished. Its a Marston's pub and though there were 3 handpumps in each bar only Pedigree and Bitter were available.

A pub with something for everyone: pool table and bandit, giant TV screen, all in several different rooms on different levels, including a dining room, so that those who may be bothered by any of the previously named features can avoid them. The walls are covered with all sorts of pictures and photos, framed model boats and a collection of clay pipes. Beer is from the Marston's range plus a guest from Wychwood. Handy for the bus stops in the market place.
