Strongers . left this review about Blazing Rag

The Blazing Rag has a central U-shaped serving counter that supports standard keg alongside two hand pumps, one of which was in use drawing Wainwright. Cash is preferred, in fact there’s a 10p surcharge per drink if paying by card. To the left of the counter is some seating as well as a pool table and dartboard. There is more seating to the right where another dartboard resides along with some televisions that were airing muted cricket via Sky Sports while some background music played. The governor seemed friendly once he’d ascertained that I wasn’t a nutter and the ten locals who were chatting around the counter during my late midweek afternoon visit seemed harmless enough. This is a decent enough local, but it’s not a destination pub.

Fairly standard pub with a few friendly local's gathered around the bar. My pint of Wainwrights was in good shape. Lots of pool trophies dotted around so I guess they have a good team!

The final pub on the way back to the hotel after a long day & night in Buxton. It's pretty much U shaped with a big TV, pool table & dartboard but nothing much else in the way of features. I decided to have just a half of Wainwright to finish off with and got chatting to the friendly barmaid and one of the locals. Half an hour later I decided to have another half as the chat meandered along. The Wainwright was in very good nick and the welcome outstanding. Gets an extra point just for the sheer friendliness.

A nice enough pub on the outskirts of the town centre. An open plan place in a sort of U-shape. Just the 2 handpumps on the bar with Doom Bore and Theakstons Bitter on. Friendly people but possibly not worth the walk out.
