A pretty solid locals pub at the top end of town, smartly refurbished inside the layout recently described by David below, my visit was a couple of days before his review. For entertainment there are two pool tables and a dartboard plus about four TV screens, on my Saturday visit there was a choice of Winter Olympics or an FA Cup game. Cask beers on the counter were Tonbridge Traditional, Harveys Sussex Best and an excellently conditioned Harveys Old Ale.
A decent albeit basic pub.

Cask options from four hand pumps were Harvey's Sussex Best, Doom Bar and the best bitter from Tonbridge Brewery with a single unused hand pump. Keg options were Guinness, Aspall, Madri, Amstel, Fosters, Pravda, Rekorderling red fruit cider, Alpacalypse and Moretti.
Long rectangular venue along the busy main road out the front. The venue is bare boarded with the bar counter along the back wall to the right / middle of the venue with tall stool seating along the longer front side and the left-hand edge of the bar counter. Wall on the right-hand side of the venue was original brick with a log burner and there was a leather studded banquette under the front windows to the right of the entrance. There is a leather studded banquette around the right-hand corner with a library feel wallpaper. Drinking ledge with tall stools in the front to the left of the entrance. The rear over to the left-hand side up a step and with a bit of ledge seating is ostensibly a pool and darting area. There is an attractive beer garden out the back, block paving initially and then grassed with generally traditional picnic benches to sit at. Was popular with post work locals sitting at the bar counter on my visit pre a curry a bit further back towards the station.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about George & Dragon
Still looks fairly basic from the road, so the refurbished interior may come as a bit of a surprise. The layout has been opened out to give a reasonable amount of space which includes two pool tables in a long weatherboarded extension. Lots of television screens for the sports fans, and a beer garden out back. The number of handpumps has reduced again since my last visit five years ago, now with three on different parts of the L-shaped counter offering the obligatory Harvey's and a more local pair from Tonbridge: Traditional (£4.20) and Golden Rule available on this visit. Gives the impression of being a well-run local.

The bar of the George and Dragon is located to the right of the entrance where there is also some seating along the front windows. Birra Moretti and standard draught products are supported by the bar, as are four hand pumps. During my visit early on Friday evening these were drawing Fuller’s London Pride, Harvey’s Best, Wells’ Bombardier Glorious English and Tonbridge Brewery’s Coppernob. To the left of the entrance is a raised area that houses two pool tables and two dartboards, although it would be a bit of a squeeze to play all four at the same time. Plasma screen are located throughout and Sky Sports is shown here. During my visit there was some dance music playing in the background to the clientele of mixed age.
Out the back is a covered area with some sofas and a table and beyond is a grass covered area with some picnic tables. To the right of the pub is a car park.
This is a decent enough pub that I would have no problem returning to.
