Strongers . left this review about The Blarney Stone

I left a bit of extra time to get back to the station from further out east in case I got lost, but with a trouble free walk I had 15 minutes to kill so I stopped by the Blarney Stone where I received a very friendly welcome from the barmaid and a local who was stood at the bar. Standard and premium keg were available so I decided to join everyone else in the pub who were drinking Guinness, which was very good. I noted that the counter was to the left and seating ran under the front windows to the right where more seating resides alongside the Statue of Liberty with an Ireland flag draped around it. Televisions through were airing muted Sky Sport and there was some background music playing, and not too loud as I tend to find in Irish bars. I’ll not be purposely revisiting here again, but I’ve been in far worse wildcards with some time to kill late at night.

The A-board outside says it now serves real ale. I still wouldn't go here though.

This place is now open. Sadly its crap. Its exactly laid out as before only now its gone all Irish. Has an Irish flag-clad Statue Of Liberty statue inside. I'm told its the lot who had the shitty Irish American Bar on Lime St who run it. Real ale? Don't be daft! Will be popular obviously.

Old Boots left this review about Renshaws

A single large room with a little Victorian charm but not nearly as much as the impressive exterior suggests. Usual range of uninteresting kegs, a solitary unused handpump at the end of the counter with a guest beer clip reversed. Screens and machines, a fairly down market place in all respects, not surprising given that Renshaw St is an extension of Lime St.
