Strongers . left this review about A Bar

The A Bar was previously known as the Amsterdam and I gather that this is still the bar of the Amsterdam Hotel above. There is seating out the front with views of the sea across a couple of roads and steps lead up to a double glass door entrance. The frontage is made up of floor to ceiling windows to take advantage of the location and the interior is split into two with the bar to the right and seating that was being used by a few diners to the left. These diners were tucking into the reasonably priced Thai menu and the lone plasma in this area was showing muted Champions League football via Sky Sports. The bar on the rear wall to the right is stocked with some standard and premium draught products and the hand pump was drawing Skinner’s Betty Stogs. The many plasma screens were showing advertisements for the attached hotel and the lighting was festive and cabaret. The background music was of random genre and there was a handful of middle aged northern blokes in the bar area. I believe that they were guests, but this bar was a bit camp so who knows?

This is not a place I plan to visit again in the near future.
