Strongers . left this review about The Ship
The Ship is a long and thin wooden floored pub with a serving counter centrally placed on the rear wall. This faces some exposed brick columns and high tables that are overlooked by a couple of televisions that were playing muted rolling news. There was some background music playing. Standard and premium keg was available and the two hand pumps were drawing St Austell’s Tribute and Hicks. Food is served, but I didn’t see any menus and I didn’t venture upstairs to the restaurant because it was closed. I’d consider popping back in for some lunch if passing, but not just for a beer.

Two pumps with St Austell beers plus their Korev lager and other keg stuff. Quite food oriented with a large restaurant as well as bar meals. Free WiFi .

Old Blue left this review about Watering Hole
This was originally The Ship, was closed for ages and then re-opened a few years ago in its current guise after St. Austell brewery bought it up. Double-fronted modern place with a bar area one side and a restaurant area the other. Had an unusually tasty pint of Tribute. I can't see why it needs another refurb other than that it's apparently going to change its name back to The Ship by popular demand.
