Ian Mapp left this review about The White Horses Hotel

Most prominent pub in town - dominating the cross roads. A target for lunch time diners and people wishing to soak up the sun, as it is near the beach.

Despite the crowds, the bar was strangely empty. Didn't help with the service - one disinterested bar member polishing glasses with acknowledging me to the point where I thought she was leaving the serving to the other fella. Once she finished her toil, she grunted as to what I would like to order. Some people shouldn't work in hospitality.

There was a single cask on, but I chose to go Estrella Keg. Expensive.... but most places are.

Rottingdean proving nothing to last in the memory for the pub enthusiast.

Strongers . left this review about The White Horse

The White Horse advertises itself as a hotel, restaurant and bar and the set tables at the rear and ample parking would make one think that it leans towards dry sales. Thankfully the front bar area is separate from the rear dining area, but it is made up of low and high tables along with sofas so I decided to sit at the bar. I’m glad that I did as the barman was very friendly and I had a good view of the plasma screen showing Sky Sports. A standard draught selection was available during my recent midweek evening visit and three hand pumps were drawing Greene King IPA, Old Speckled Hen and White Horse Ale. I opted for the Guinness and thought that it was very good. I’m not sure if there is any garden of sorts out the back, but the signs directing smokers pointed to the entrance.

This isn’t a pub that I would go out of my way for as I like a more traditional venue, but I had a better time than I though it would have and a return visit is not out of the question.
