Revisit August 2022
A complete refurbishment after a fire has dramatically improved the interior of this large pub, which is now nicely broken up into different areas giving the chance to escape from the worst of its clientele. It still suffers from the proximity of Thorpe Park and relies on GK IPA but is tolerable at quieter times.
April 2017 review: Large 'Hungry Horse' family dining pub, strategically placed for Thorpe Park. Pretty much as you would expect, with several rooms all laid up for dining, plus large outdoor areas. Does at least have a couple of GK beers on handpump.

Godawful GK Hungry Horse serving to mop-up the low-grade food market generated by the nearby Thorpe Park. Usual corporate livery over two rooms separated by door, which serves to delineate the drinkers and eaters. Six Nations on the telly but the speakers were broken so we were treated to an incessant farty buzzing noise throughout my stay with no effort made to turn them off or fix the problem despite staff complaining to each other about it – you’d find more gumption present in a gastropod. Talking of unpleasant slime, the three pumps at the bar were all dispensing Greene King IPA which at least was fresh on even if not particularly cared for. Don't waste your time here, I have done it for you.
