A detached 1960s looking white painted brick Marston’s pub and eatery, with extensions and a conservatory. Also has a patio area.
The interior is a large L-shaped open plan room, set out mainly for dining – typical of this sort of eaty establishment. The décor is mainly red and white, with a bit of wood panel and the only brown wall, along with a white ceiling and a snazzy, if a little worn, carpet. The pictures on the walls were arty flower things, or more obvious landscapes. The one end does have a little games area, with a pool table, dart board and a TV, with Sky Sports News on silent. The service was fine and the clientele mixed, many just drinking despite it being a foody orientated place. I didn’t eat so I can’t comment on that. The music was soft and generic.
Beer; tap stuff, with Banks’s MILD and Marston’s Pedigree. No real ale. I had a bitter shandy.
To be honest, I didn’t expect much as it is foody orientated and there was no real ale. It is a generic eatery, it does what it says on the tin, if you like that kind of tin.
