We came to this isolated pub in a complex of minor road junctions about a mile from Ashover as part of our Ashover and villages pub crawl. After the restaurant-chic of the nearby Miners Arms, I was a little worried about the pink-washed exterior to this building, but it's fairly ordinary country pub-type décor once inside, if you can ignore the tartan carpets.
On the bar are three hand pumps and these were dispensing Peak Ales Bakewell Best Bitter and Chatsworth Gold, plus the locally brewed Ashover Poets Tipple. The beers were in good condition and the two of our number who stayed to have something to eat later reported that they were well fed. Definitely worth the walk out from the village if you're in Ashover.
