In a week of around 40 peak district pubs - this was the best of the week.
Great food/Service is a separate dining room.
Front bar full of life - darts team preparing for an away match. Every local with an interest in football watching the game.
Full of joy and banter.
Beer wise - a couple from Marstons - not the most exciting - but a great atmosphere.

The Bulls Head is a Marstons house,we went it the room towards the back of the pub this was wood pannelled and quite smart it was fairly quiet untill a large group of walkers turned up wanting to eat somthing.
There were three real ales on here i had a drink of Marstons Bitter this was ok there was also Jennings Cumberland and a Peak Ales beer, parts of this pub have an hotel feeling to it but then again it probably is an hotel.
We thought this was the best pub in Youlgreave.

I knew nothing about this place before I visited but it has an appealing exterior and a cosy homely feel inside. There is a bar room with dart board and TV (dogs welcome), a pool room, a lounge to the rear leading through to a dining room. The gaffer was friendly and chatty.
On handpull there was Marston’s Burton Bitter, Peak Ales Bakewell Best Bitter and Jennings Cumberland ... oh and they sell pork scratching. Overnight accommodation is also available. It got my vote for my favourite pub in Youlgrave. If I returned to this area I would consider staying over here.
