A Slug & Lettuce with a serving counter up the right where premium keg was available from a friendly barmaid. There are a couple of rows of high tables up the centre and up the left-hand wall are some booths. Towards the rear is a central bridal booth and at the rear is open plan seating with access to covered seating out the back with views across the River Irwell to a Sainsbury’s Express. Lots of flowers, Bruno Mars in the background and a cocktail menu, what’s not to love in the Bride’s Palace.

Typical Sluggy place. All shiny, bright, soulless, large and tedious. Aimed at the vacant brained hipsters. No real ale for us dullards so its fizz-u-likes only. Crap.

Typical Ha Ha lager barn with no distinguishing features at all inside. It sells all the standard lager stuff at inflated prices. A pint of Becks and a small wine = £7.20 which is a bit of a rip off even in the city centre. The only redeeming feature is the outside patio overlooking the River Irwell which is a real suntrap, which is why we were there. It wasn’t my idea!!
