Formerly Yates, now Walkabout (they’re all the same company, aren’t they?). Fairly tedious bar designed for vertical drinking with usual stylings of the chain. At least a bit of effort made with some booths replete with TV football. Just half a dozen codgers in on a Wednesday night and a moon-like atmosphere. Naff keg selection so Guinness again, which was alright. Suspect it won’t last much longer in its current guise.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Yates's
Large 'L'-shaped bar, with some booths plus a side area up a few steps. Dull modern furniture and decor. Music at more than background level at lunch-time. Only point of interest is unexpectedly finding the best selection of real ale in a Yates's in recent times from five handpumps: Greene King IPA, TT Landlord, Doom Bar, Pride and Everards Tiger (£1.99).
